Horror Story - Victoria D.

Day 1: The night was as dark as black velvet and the air was as thick as smog. The world was a lonely, hot, and really boring place as if the sun had set for all of eternity. The darkness reminded me of the country side that I had missed my whole life. It was as if the world was telling me that something wrong was going to happen. I had no idea what happened. All I knew was that I was in the middle of the ocean with no supplies to keep me alive for long. I had gone on this voyage for one reason; I wanted to escape it all. I wanted to escape the sorrow and the pain of the world I left behind. The life I once lived had somehow shattered in my face leaving nothing but wounds and emptiness. I knew it was a bad idea to head out into the ocean but I felt like I had no other option.
Day 2: I awoke this morning and I saw something in the distance. I didn’t know what it was so I tried to stay away. I was unaware of what I was doing because that night I couldn’t sleep. Those annoying sounds! To me it sounded like screams. Eerie screams of someone being tortured! I knew I had to save the people but I couldn’t figure out which direction the screams were coming from. I never stopped to think that maybe the screams were of someone being killed on the fatal island of no return. I felt the eerie screams of pain cease after about twenty minutes and I figured the people had been knocked on conscious or worse that they were killed. The morning, there was nothing but silence. There were no birds, no waves, nothing. Everything was silent. There was absolutely no sound. It was like I was at a funeral. The something in the distance is getting closer and I feel like it is evil but I can’t help going towards it.
Day 3: I feel like there is no end to this silence! Why won’t the silence end? Am I going insane or is this how the world should be? So many questions today just not enough answers. The world is an unfair one. Always giving you information that makes absolutely no sense and expecting you to figure it out all by yourself. The night was colder than anything I have ever felt. I crash landed on the thing that was in the distance. It turned out to be an island. I felt like I had been here before. Not me being here in person but I had a sense of where I was and what I was doing here. I am on ship-trap Island. I felt like I had been here before. Not me being here in person but I had a sense of where I was and what I was doing here. I am on ship-trap Island.
Day: 4 I am rested now. I fell asleep in a hut that I found yesterday. I had inspected if for anything that could potentially hurt me. I didn’t care what would happen to me even if I did find poisonous or deadly. All I cared about was that I found shelter and that I was not in any serious trouble of drowning. I still feel emptiness everywhere and even a sense of danger. I am on ship-trap Island.
Day: 5. Today was weird. I woke up in a dungeon sort of place. It is dark, gloomy, it smells bad, and it is overall a repulsing place to be. I awoke in shackles like a prisoner about to be executed because the king ordered it. I had committed no crime yet I am imprisoned. This is weird but wait someone is coming…. “Awake are we now?” said a chilling voice. The man was tall, thin, dark moustache and bright white hair.
“Who are you?” I replied.
“I am general Zarroff,” he said.
“What am I doing in your dungeon?” I asked.
“You are rather inquisitive for such a civilized person.” He said.
“That doesn’t answer my question. I want to know what I am doing here!” I said.
“You will find out in good time. All in good time. But first, you must join me for breakfast so we can discuss important details.” He answered as he was walking toward a massive mound that happened to be a couple feet away from where I was sitting on the floor. “Ivan. It’s time to wake up and free the prisoner.” He whispered to the mound. “Rawwwwwr!!!!!” the mound was screaming in pain. I soon discovered the mound was no mound; it was a Russian Cossack who was now unshackling me! After I was out of shackles, I followed the general into the dining room. “So to answer your questions, you are here for my entertainment. You see am a hunter but I have gotten tired of hunting animals. They are just too easy. They are so easy. You see they cannot think beyond instinct. They don’t think of anything when it is vital. That is why I have come to this island. I call it Trap Island. It is my ‘man trap’.” He finally said after we ate.
“Wait a minute; I have more questions for you. First of all how am I your entertainment? I thought this island was called Ship-Trap Island. And how is this island a man trap as you call it?” I replied to him.
“Well I hunt people. Not animals because people think. This is not ship-trap it’s just trap. This island brings me people to hunt because of the midnight waves that hit. The bring ships over here.” He answered.
“I understand your game. I also understand that you wish to hunt me but I have to warn you, I think less than any animals you could find on this island. You are going to get more challenge out of a rock than you will get with me.” I told him.
” I know that’s how you feel and I know you are keeping record of your time here. But if you don’t want me to hunt you, you have options. I could lock you in my dungeon until you rot or I could give you to my personal assistant Ivan. He will surely make fun out of you somehow.” He said.
“I would much rather go with a Cossack than a mad man that will surely cheat and kill me unfairly.” I decided. “Very well then but I must warn you if Ivan doesn’t kill you and he lets you go, you will feel my rath stronger than if you did survive under my watch.” He tried to scare me.
“I understand that and I will tell you this, I can get out of almost any situations. I have quick reflexes and I think fast. It won’t be hard for me to escape the clutches of the oversized beast of a Cossack. He is clumsy and won’ be hard to evade since he is slow and doesn’t think about anything.
Day: 5 I awake in a nice warm bed which I guess are nicer than shackles and a cold wet floor. I feel sore. I feel as if I had already lived through the pain of torture and I somehow survived. At the very moment in which I thought the torture was over, the general walked in.
“I see you managed to send Ivan away for a while,” he said in a very calm almost grateful tone of voice.
“What are you talking about I thought my torture would start today. Did you cheat and made Ivan torture me last night after I went to sleep?” I said.
“Oh contraire last night you went looking for Ivan. You found him and set him loose and you took away all of the maps he carries so that he wouldn’t find his way back. You see he only can go somewhere if he has a map. He needs to know where something is. That is why he has so many maps. The only reason you are not being tortured right now is that Ivan walked off the cliff and had gotten himself hurt. He is in the hospital in Russia and is to come back in a few days.” He explained.
“What does that have to do with me? If I chose Ivan and he is hurt then shouldn’t I be going home right now?” I asked.
“Well yes you are but I can’t risk letting you go and you telling everyone what happened to you or what is happening to others. That would be unfair for all the others who have been hunted or for the future hunted. So I must kill you in order to protect my reputation and my island from people like you.” He said to me his voice now tense and kind of angry. “You made me have to kill you! Don’t you understand this is my island and everything goes my way! Nobody else’s way but mine! I must do this to protect you!”
“Protect me how? All you want to do is kill me just because you are a fabulous hunter that is too smart to hunt any animal on your island! I don’t think that is protection. That is murder not protection. You are the single worst person I have ever met in my life and for everyone else’s sake, I hope that one day you see the end of this train wreck you call a life and that you eventually see the fire burnings of the underworld where you belong. You don’t deserve to see the light of day of the happiness of a child’s smiling face. Your heart is colder that the arctic.”
General Zarroff: With those final words I pulled out my pistol and I shot him. It wasn’t really a hunt because he made it so easy. That retched. He thinks he knows everything about my life. He isn’t going to see the light of any day from now on. He knows everything, yet he knows absolutely nothing. He knew that he was tortured at night and he was going to expose me as the cheater I am. He didn’t know that I was going to kill him either way. He didn’t know that he wasn’t going to escape my island. I was going to let him go if he decided to be hunted by me. He chose Ivan who was going to show no mercy to him. He had to go down, I know this is his memoir, but I had to finish it. Every story no matter how horrible deserves to have an ending. He had no idea what was in store for him. He forgot to write about his death. The only memory he left was a big bloody mess on my freshly cleaned white carpet. My, do I despise that guy he deserved to die he deserved a lot of horrible things. I HATE MY LITTLE BROTHER!!!
